Part of the process is a move to standard grade books for teacher use. Some report requirements for weekly grade reports and I heard some schools require a certain number of marks per week.

For me this is more evidence that schools enforce group learning and assessment while claiming to support student centered learning. Grade books don't even recognize the different assessment needs of different subjects or approaches to learning. Last spring I had the pleasure of using a standard grade book to report grades for a modular course. It wasn't pretty.
